HUALALAI, HI
Californian cuisine with Italian influences, casual atmosphere; extensive gluten-free options
We dined at The Beach Tree at The Four Seasons twice and enjoyed both visits. Situated along a stunning stretch of the Kailua-Kona coast, the restaurant offers fresh, flavorful food in an open-air setting with a partially covered dining area just steps from the beach. The views and relaxed ambiance make it an ideal spot for a leisurely meal.
The Beach Tree’s gluten-free menu closely mirrors the regular menu, providing many choices for guests avoiding gluten. A vegan menu is also available. Staff demonstrated a clear awareness of celiac disease and took precautions to prevent cross-contamination, which made dining worry-free. On our visits we sampled a variety of dishes, including fresh chips served with salsa and guacamole, a classic caprese salad, a turkey burger with potato fries, mahi-mahi tacos, a nutrient-packed superfood salad, and a hot dog with fries. Each dish was well prepared and highlighted fresh ingredients.
The restaurant’s open design, attentive service, and thoughtful dietary accommodations contribute to a pleasant dining experience for groups with diverse preferences. Whether you’re seeking gluten-free or plant-based options, or simply want to enjoy coastal views with a casual Italian-California menu, The Beach Tree delivers consistent quality and an inviting atmosphere.
