When a taco and a cheeseburger share a moment on the griddle, you get an irresistible mash-up: Blackstone Taco Burger Sliders.
Seasoned ground beef with taco spices, a bit of salsa and optional green chiles bring the taco flavor, while slider buns and melty cheese give the burger vibe.
I recommend King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls for the best slider experience.
A simple southwest-style sauce of sour cream combined with salsa and a dash of hot sauce ties everything together.

How to make Blackstone Taco Burger Sliders
Start with 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef in a bowl.
Add a packet of taco seasoning, 3/4 cup salsa (reserve a little for the sauce), minced garlic, and a pinch of kosher salt and pepper.
If you like a little extra heat and texture, stir in about 2 ounces of canned green chiles — they’re optional but add a nice boost of flavor.

Mix everything with your hands until evenly combined. Form the mixture into one large rectangular patty slightly larger than the slider buns — the meat will shrink as it cooks.

Preheat your griddle to medium and add a little cooking oil. Carefully transfer the patty to the hot surface and cook about 4 minutes per side.
Use a large spatula to flip the patty in one piece. During the last minute or two of cooking, overlap 6–8 slices of Pepper Jack or Colby Jack cheese across the top so it melts evenly.

Slice the King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls in half to separate tops and bottoms and toast them cut-side down on the griddle for about a minute.

Top Blackstone Taco Burger Sliders with the Southwest sauce, lettuce, and jalapenos!

Mix the remaining salsa with 1/2 cup sour cream and a dash of hot sauce for a quick southwest sauce. Place the burger on the bottom half of each bun, spoon on the sauce, and add shredded lettuce and pickled jalapenos if desired. Cap with the top bun and serve while hot.

Blackstone Taco Burger Sliders
Cheri Renee
Equipment
-
Blackstone Griddle
-
Flat Top Grill/ Griddle
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning blend
- 4 to 5 cloves garlic minced
- 3/4 cup salsa
- 2 ounces canned green chiles (optional)
- kosher salt, pepper
- cooking oil of choice
- 6 to 8 slices Pepper Jack or Colby Jack cheese
- 1 12 count package King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- Optional: shredded lettuce, pickled jalapenos, hot sauce
Instructions
-
Put the ground beef in a bowl and add the taco seasoning packet, minced garlic, 1/4 cup of the salsa, green chiles (if using), kosher salt, and pepper. Mix together with your hands until combined.
-
Form the beef into one large square or rectangle shaped patty on a tray, slightly larger than the slider buns to allow for shrinkage while cooking.
-
Preheat the griddle to medium. Add cooking oil and place the beef patty on the griddle. Cook about 4 minutes per side. Place cheese slices on the burger during the last 2 minutes of cooking, overlapping the slices so they melt together. Note: a large hibachi spatula works well for flipping.
-
Cut the slider buns or rolls in half, separating top and bottom layers. Place them cut-side down on the griddle for about a minute to lightly toast.
-
Mix the remaining salsa with the sour cream. Place the burger over the bottom halves of the buns, spoon on the sour cream-salsa mixture, add toppings such as shredded lettuce and pickled jalapenos, and finish with the top buns to serve.
