I wanted a sandwich the other night but not a plain cold one. I decided to turn one of my favorite sandwiches into a warm, handheld treat by wrapping it in crescent roll dough. After all, everything tastes better when it’s tucked into a flaky crescent!
These BBQ beef and cheddar crescents are quick to assemble and full of flavor. The combination of deli roast beef, tangy barbecue sauce, and melty cheddar works perfectly with the golden, buttery crescent crust. They make a great quick lunch, a light dinner, or a tasty snack, and they reheat well—just 25–30 seconds in the microwave and they’re ready to enjoy the next day.
BBQ Beef and Cheddar Crescents
serves 4
- 1/2 pound deli roast beef, thinly sliced
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 1/3 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Separate the crescent roll dough into 8 triangles. Place 1/2 slice of cheddar on each triangle. Lightly brush the roast beef with BBQ sauce, then arrange the beef on top of the cheese. Roll each triangle up, enclosing the filling, and place them seam-side down on a baking sheet.
Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the crescents are puffed and golden brown. Serve warm.
Tip: For a crispier exterior, bake on a parchment-lined sheet and allow the crescents to cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
