Strawberry Colada Milkshake Recipe — Creamy Tropical Blend

Stawberry Colada Milkshakes

That late-afternoon window between about 3:00 and 5:30 can be the toughest time of day at my house. The minute my daughter climbs into the car after school she asks, without greeting, “What’s for after-school snack?” and I usually draw a blank. A couple of weeks ago I finally tossed together this Strawberry Colada Milkshake and it solved the problem for us.

It’s a familiar dilemma: the kids haven’t eaten for a few hours, dinner is almost ready, they want something sweet, and I want to offer something reasonably nutritious. These milkshakes strike a great balance. They’re fruity and satisfying, with fresh flavor and a creamy texture that feels like a treat without being a heavy dessert.

The recipe blends strawberries and pineapple with vanilla yogurt and whole milk for creaminess, and a hint of coconut extract gives it that pina colada twist. My kids were thrilled by the flavor and never realized it wasn’t a traditional ice-cream milkshake. It feels indulgent but delivers whole fruit and protein from yogurt, making it a smart, kid-friendly snack.

If you’re looking for an adult version, a splash of rum would turn this into a simple, tropical cocktail—obviously something to save for after the kids are in bed.
