HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!
Whether you love or dislike Valentine’s Day, I want to tell all my readers that I care about you. You are the reason Well and Full thrives, and I’m grateful to be part of this community. Consider this a virtual valentine from me to you.
To celebrate, here’s a naturally pink smoothie that’s not only tasty but packed with Vitamin C. It features Camu Camu powder, a concentrated source of ascorbic acid. As I study holistic nutrition, I’ve learned a few helpful facts about Vitamin C:
- Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps neutralize free radicals.
- Stress can lower Vitamin C levels, so people under stress may benefit from increased intake.
- Research links higher blood levels of Vitamin C with a reduced risk of stroke.
- Top food sources include papaya, bell peppers, broccoli, strawberries, and pineapple.
- Vitamin C also supports cardiovascular health.
- Just 1/2 teaspoon of Camu Camu powder can provide over 400% of the daily recommended value of Vitamin C.
If you’re preparing something special for your partner, friends, or yourself this Valentine’s Day, add this smoothie to your menu. It’s vegan, refreshing, and supports your immune system.
As always, consult your healthcare provider before starting any new supplement. I’m not a doctor—just a nutrition student.
