Custom Handmade Gift Boxes and Decorative Tags for Presents

Handmade party favor boxes

I love handmade gift wrap, especially handcrafted party favors. I’m always excited when Lifestyle Crafts releases new cutting dies that work well for gift projects. This week I worked with pieces from the Bloom and Grow release and core collection, and I’m really impressed with the variety and quality.

Dessert box die

I used the Dessert Box die to create a small gift box that works perfectly as a party favor or a handmade gift container. The die set includes two pieces and assembly is straightforward: fold along the score lines, glue the tabs, and add your embellishments. Because the patterned paper I chose was already busy, I kept the decoration simple with pearl accents and a length of bakers twine for a clean, polished look.

Treat box die

The new Treat Box die is another favorite from the collection. Its sweet shape opens up lots of creative possibilities for different occasions. For this version I used a decorative punch, pearl details, and bakers twine to enhance the design. Lifestyle Crafts offers a wide selection of Boxes and Bags that are ideal for party favors—versatile, quick to assemble, and perfect for customizing.

Handmade gift tag

Handmade gift wrap feels incomplete without a matching tag. I created an embossed gift tag using an embossing folder and a die-cut tag shape. One of the advantages of Lifestyle Crafts tools is compatibility—many brands of cutting dies and embossing folders work with their machines. I picked up the embossing folder at a craft store and, after cutting and embossing the tag, layered a small flower die-cut and bakers twine for a finished touch. The flower comes from the Bloom and Grow release, and the delicate flourishes in that collection would also make lovely embellishments for frames, cards, or packaging.

These little projects show how a few simple tools and materials can elevate gift presentation. Whether you prefer ornate embellishments or understated, elegant details, cutting dies and embossing folders make it easy to produce professional-looking party favors and tags. Try mixing patterned papers, textured cardstock, and small accents like pearls or twine to create coordinated sets for a party, wedding, or holiday gift exchange.
