Wishing everyone a very happy, healthy, and blessed new year! In this video I share a 2020 channel update outlining my plans for the website and YouTube channel for the year ahead. This post summarizes the upcoming content and points you to the video for a few extra surprises.

Thank you to everyone who subscribed—2019 brought wonderful subscriber growth, and I appreciate your support. If you create video content and are curious about my tools and services, you can learn about the equipment I use on my site.

Mastering the Basics

Over the past year and a half I’ve focused on foundational techniques for traditional, nutrient-dense cooking. Topics we’ve covered include:

  • Bone broths
  • Cultured dairy
  • Ferments
  • Sourdough starter and sourdough bread
  • Soaking and sprouting grains, nuts, and beans
  • Making sprouted flour at home

I still have a few more “basics” planned, but this year I’ll be expanding into more recipes and practical meal planning.

Recipes, Meal Plans, and More!

This year I’ll share many easy recipes that use the nutrient-dense foods we’ve learned to prepare. Recipes and tips will be suitable for both experienced home cooks and beginners. I’ll focus on meals that taste familiar but are better for you—simple, nourishing family food that will be welcomed at your table.

Expect approachable meal plans and recipe ideas that make home cooking satisfying and sustainable for your family and friends.

Just Getting Started? Don’t Worry!

If you’re still learning the basics, take it at your own pace. Changing from processed foods to a traditional foods kitchen is a gradual process. Introduce new preparations slowly so you don’t create stress for yourself or your budget.

Start with a roast chicken… even if that roast chicken is a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store.

I’ll also be launching a new video series called Kitchen Life Chats. These episodes will share real-life kitchen details, including:

  • The kitchen journal I keep
  • How I stock a traditional foods pantry
  • How I equip a traditional foods kitchen
  • And more practical tips from everyday kitchen life

I welcome your questions and suggestions in the video and blog comments—tell me how I can make the transition to a traditional foods kitchen easier for you.
